Many bands sold online are made from TPE. TPE is an artificial rubber. Aside from being harmful to the environment, TPE is less elastic than natural rubber latex (NRL). In other words: more likely to snap. That sounds dangerous! We're Freeflow & Gusto, not Freeflow & Uh-oh. Conversely, NRL has 60% further stretch capacity. It is also a biodegradable, renewable resource. Although NRL is more expensive than TPE, we know it's worth it. FFG bands are always sourced from natural latex.
Watch out for poor-quality carabiners as well. The same guys selling you low quality bands (shall we call them, "The Bad Guys"?) are likely selling you icky carabiners. Meaning more likely to snap AND rust. FFG carabiners would never do you like that.
